BioDigest is the result of over 25 years of research in the aquarium industry. It is a concentrated consortium of bacterial strains that work in synergy.
The breakdown of organic waste is enhanced by the presence of multiple heterotrophic bacterial strains in optimal proportions.
These bacteria work together within our consortia, with each strain completing the work started by others. Some strains are capable of biosynthesizing denitrifying enzymes under aerobic conditions, resulting in excellent water purification, reduced nitrate and phosphate levels, and the prevention of algae blooms, including cyanobacteria.

BioDigest’s beneficial bacteria mix of Nitrosomonas, Nitrobacter, and Bacillus is introduced directly to the live rock and substrate, so regular use ensures a healthy and continuous bacteria population in your system.
