Why use BioDigest every 15 days?
BioDigest is particularly effective during the first two weeks after it is added to the aquarium. This is because bacterial growth rates vary depending on the strain. The BioDigest formula is carefully balanced to maintain the correct proportions of bacteria, allowing them to work synergistically and efficiently to purify the aquarium for approximately 15 days.
Does increasing the dosage of BioDigest lead to better results?
No. Increasing the dosage will not improve effectiveness. When additional support is required, it is more beneficial to switch to weekly dosing and to use Bioptim in conjunction with BioDigest.
BioDigest has a strong smell when the ampoule is opened. Is this normal?
Yes, this is completely normal. BioDigest has a naturally strong odor, which does not indicate that the product has expired or that its effectiveness has been compromised.
Is it possible to overdose BioDigest?
My tank is under 1000l, will adding 1 ampoule of BioDigest be too much?
It is not possible to overdose BioDigest under normal use, as it contains natural bacteria. The bacterial population will naturally regulate itself according to the volume of water and available nutrients within the aquarium.
Do I need to turn off my UV, Ozone or Protein Skimmer when dosing BioDigest?
Yes. When adding BioDigest, you should turn off the UV sterilizer, ozone system, and protein skimmer for approximately four hours. This allows sufficient time for the bacteria to fully colonize the aquarium system and biological filtration media.
